Frequently Asked Questions

The duration of excavation work to deepen an existing basement (underpinning) typically ranges from 4 to 8 weeks. For larger or more complex projects, it can extend to 10 to 12 weeks.

Key factors that affect the timeline include:

• Basement size: larger spaces take more time to excavate.
• Desired height increase: greater depth requires more steps and structural support.
• Soil conditions: clay, rock, or unstable soils require specialized methods.
• Obstructions: plumbing, old foundations, or existing piles may slow progress.
• Site accessibility: limited access can delay logistics and material handling.
• Weather conditions: rain or winter conditions may cause delays.
