Cross-cutting issues (emergencies, safety, comfort)
Is an engineer always involved in your projects?
Yes, an engineer is involved in most projects handled by Hénault et Gosselin, especially those involving structural elements, foundations, or building stability. When required by code or when the project is complex, a structural engineer is always included from the planning stage.
Engineer’s roles in a project:
- Structural evaluation: identifying the root cause and recommending the proper solutions.
- Plan design: creating building code–compliant technical drawings.
- Method validation: approving techniques used for lifting, piling, or foundation replacement.
- Site supervision: ensuring proper execution and making adjustments as needed.
- Compliance report or certificate: provided at project completion if required by the city or for insurance.
When necessary, engineering services are included in your quote. To find out if your project requires an engineer, contact Heneault Gosselin.
